i went shopping again, dang im a glutten for punishment!!
i found the two other matchbox cars from the VW's collection,
first theres the green and white lowered on standard rims, nice looking, basic, with the delux trim
second theres a metalic red and white pannel van, again lowered but on porsche fuchs rims!
the mega raraties that i discovered in the carousel are 2 different filmores!! these are from the "cars mini adventures" ive searched high and low for these, not even seen them on evil-bay!!
the first set is sarges boot camp, sarge is his usual self, but filmore is in military green and white top half, he's got a large white star on his sides.
the mini filmore is more cartoony, very rounded and very cute looking!
the second set is radiator springs police dept, sarge is olive green with a black top, filmore is black and white with yellow wheels and a yellow peace symbol on his sides!

if someone really wants a set i did get the only other sets avaliable!

theres a picture of most of the "new" beetles ive collected, there are a couple of minis they are on twin car sets!

i'll keep you lot informed of any more finds!, shame its not gold im lookin for!

Hi Jon,
I got a touch of your disease,
I went to City Models on Friday night, bought 5 different coloured VW Cabriolet by Cararama, all in a nice display box and perspex name stand .
1/43 scale. 5 for $25.00 or $8.00 each.
Doors open , with soft tops and solid tops.
They had quite a big quantity there.
I saw them on their web site.
www.citymodels.com
They did not have any Kombis.
They had one assembly kit , this looked nice, maybe another time.

WARNING: WARNING: WARNING: WARNING:
This is not a 10 minute store, go by your self, do not have any other appointments.

I also wanted to go to Pitstop books in King street, I did not get there in time, note they close at 8.00pm on Friday night.
I'll try for next Friday night.

I was in Singapore in January and went to three model shops.
One place was called Time Machine Studio, (I do not know where it was)
They are popular there in the big shopping complexes.
I bought nine different splits, 21 windows, with signage on some.
"HIGH SPEED" model collection.  Price S$ 5.90
www.highspeed.com.hk
I really like these. 1: 87 scale, nicely package in clear box,
I mounted one on a trophy the night I hosted a mens "SHEDS" night we have on the first Monday of each month.
My theme was... Kombi's ( how did you guess!
Anyone who has the night at their shed or back area, holds the "Spanner" trophy that is mounted on a wooden base, for one month.
There are about 12 different themes attached to the base so far.

One of my other favourites was freeby via junk mail, a cardboard press out and assemble Blue split kombi,
Who else got one of these about 3 months ago in the letter box?
"I've been every where man" printed on the top.
For our non Aussies members, this is the logo for a broadband company in Australia.
I have photo copied the outline and one day will make my own up.

That's about all the news for now

"Ruby Dear" has to go to bed soon.

as promised, some pictures of the new kombi's i bought, i pictured the new matchbox t2 bus next to the old matchbox fastwheels, as youcan see the new one is larger and more realistic than the old one. a picture tells a 1000 words! so look at these books!!

On Sunday 15th June I went to the second hand and bric brac shops in Guildford, just before Alfreds. There are about five different shops next to each other.
These shops have been there for 20+ years.
Very popular and always something interesting to look at and reminisce on.
The largest shop ( the first on the left hand side) has some very old model cars, tractors, buses etc.
I saw a very much loved and knocked about VW beetle (no details)  for sale
Price tag $50.00. most of the models are this price (plus plus.)
if any one goes and looks at this, please post a report.

Jon, Good photo of the low light bay.
I bought one two weeks ago of Ebay from a guy in Perth who has lots of vw always on offer.
I got mine for AU$10.00
Jon, mine has the same rego plate.

Kkombii.

today i had to go to the city to try and sort out the mess my migration agent is soo keen on making, so while i had a few mins i looked around and found these 2 gems

the siku german made karmann ghia convertable is a beuty, i think the best bit is the script on the boot lid,

as you can also see i found ANOTHER filmore, this ones fire dept filmore, cute as a button. its soooo cool looking, somehow it just looks right!
again its a vw that i have not seen advertised, i was really suprised to see it!, here are the three sets!

hi folks, i've been shopping again.
i bought 3 new shape beetles, (all the same) Hotwheels, its a very bright orange, No3 on the doors n roof, black graphics. dissapointing cos the lights arn't detailed and the paint on the front is very thin

i scored a gem with the VW THING! matchbox mbx, bright yellow, 3 spoke wheels the same as the bay and beetles.
couple of interesting notes, the base  plate says "vw type 181 (which it is) 1974", the packet says "'75 vw thing" which is correct???
the model is based on a mexican built civillian 181, its got the elephants foot rear lights not the late split early bay lights. exellent model tho!

i just wondered what the beetle cup racer would look like on a tilt tray! cool uh?

was in coles or woolies, and found these beuts, from what i understand "rare" in Australia, but im not so sure,
theres a purple BajaBandit on a euro short card, and also the T2 Bay again on a short euro card,
then theres the GREEN BajaBandit, i've seen em on evil-bay but not in life, for you collectors out there, there is also a red and black BajaBandit only seen one on bay of evil.

for any collectors out there be warned of a seller on E-BAY called JIMOWENSPIMP, hes perth based and the stuff he sells is crap! i paid $14 for 2 baja bugs and "repro" boxes, whet the cars arrived they were packed in a plain envelope, the cars were damaged (badly chipped) and my guinee pig could have made a better job of the boxes, they are abismal to say the least. when i complained all i got was an abusive e-mail, do yourself a favour and stay away from this guy! BE WARNED!

LOOK AT THE BOXES, SIZES ARE WRONG COLOURS POOR, IMAGES BLURED NOT SQUARE OR TRUE. ABSOLUTE TAT!!!!
