I thought it would be good to list which Bay Window Buses did not have the seat backs. You can see in the photo below that my bus does not have the seat back.
It was suggested by Phat Bus that it is only the 1979 Microbus Deluxe. But my 1979 Microbus is not a deluxe. Any other opinions on this?

Thanks for this OberonViking. Looks like you have confirmed that it was all 79 microbuses which have the seat back removed. I couldn't confirm this before as I had only noticed it in a Deluxe. I wonder if this only came about in 79 or if it was applicable in the 78 microbuses too?

Any chance of some more photos of the seat mounting area etc showing the removed seat back area? Does your front passengers seat have adjustable runners for the seat position?
