I had to go down to melbourne on saturday night, the second trip in a week, only this time i to take bessie as cathy had to work all weekend. Mum was in hostpital this time and still is.
I got the biggest wave of all time just out side port fairy, some folks in a dark green bay window.
But i also got heaps of waves on the way home from non vw people, once i hit hamilton, i think every second car waved to me.
Was the best feeling.
I saw about 3 more kombis before i got back home on monday, but they were all parked.
I gave bessie a sevice saturday afternoon and then headed off at 6pm was at my sisters place in williamstown at 12.15.
I done a total of 989ks and used 108 litres, so if any one would like to calculate fuel consumption for me, that would be great.
I drove between 90 to 105 on the way down and on the way back i never went over 90.
here is a pic i took of my dear old mum in footscray hospital on sunday just gone. Not bad for an 84 year old.
