Hi all
the other week my gear change was not great, had to push hard on the pedal, so i adjusted the cable with some washers and all went well for a few weeks, went to the vw show on sunday all good, then went for a short ride and it would not go into gear at all. got it home and i had a good look ? gears went in when engine was off but not when engine was on ? car did not slip on hills or on load not even taking off in second and third, so i put a few more washers on the fly nut at the end and adjusted it more, all seems well, but the clutch pedal is high when changing gear ?? so do we think it is the cable or clutch ???? i dont mind taking the engine out it dont take long, but only if needed .can the cable stretch like that ?
