I visited an interesting Vintage Collectable shop called "Hey Joe RETRO" on corner of South and Stokes Street White Gum Valley, (on South street just before Fremantle) 08 9433 5191
A wonderful happy lady called HeLen opened it in Dec 08.
SPELICIALISING IN '50', 60'S AND 70'S ITEMS.
I bought a nice 60's picnic case, all intact and as original, in the old type green case material, with the chrome stripping.
I was actually looking for an old style metal Esky or willow cooler the type with the metal handle clamp or side clamps.
Helen also has some nice glass goods, vibrant bright plastic items and lots more.
Worth another visit.
interesting story...
I was talking to Helen, and told her about my Kombi, and the only other lady in the shop overheard me and told me her husband is Simon....? from NoH2O, and then told me about the Kombi he was trying to track down that weekend.
Hoz that!!

Alan,
Old post but I'm going to check out this shop today. I got one of the those eskys at the Canning Vale markets a couple of months ago. Green, clamp top, metal, matches Col in colour. Fits between the front seats perfectly.
In good nick too, very retro, don't make them like that anymore.
Saw another one at the markets same chap, not as good as mine but still a good one. His stall in at the west end of the markets, always there. _________________ Col' 79 Bay Camper Pop top.

Hi Rossco,
How was your visit?
I bet you walked away with something!!
I see you are another esky tracker.
They turn up every now and then.
I bought a '70's type in the original packing box with images of people partying around the esky. Heavily moustashed young men and glitzy women with long curly hair styles.
The box is an art piece.
This Esky can stand up the large size bottles. (remember Pink Duck, Blue.....? and other sparkling wines of that era?)
I found this on a visit to Bridgetown, about 3 hours south of Perth.
There is a great, big second hand /retro shop in the main street.
We have been there many times.
I also bought a '50's type pressure cooker, (as new) for a young couple who have an older style house in Guildford. It matched the kitchen decor.
She has used it and works great.$15.00.... a bargain.
If you go to Bridgetown, visit the Cidery, good for meals and local cider.
Regards

Classic, I've got an old mate and wife who have retired to Bridgetown and been meaning to pop down and see them. We love going around and hunting down collectable/retro shops. Now I have double the excuse to go down. _________________ Col' 79 Bay Camper Pop top.

Hello Rossco,
Put a circle around the date, and you are half way there.
Make time for the Cidery and to sit around the fire or outside under the shady trees.
The meals are very recommended. _________________ Kindness is the oil that takes the friction out of life.
