Just a quick introduction. I'm from England & been living in Laos for a few months. Just bought a '77 T231 kombi, due to new cars being too expensive and I've always had a soft spot for the bus and great memories of my brothers kombis and fun times.
Looks like I'm going to be on here a lot, as the bus is in need of some serious work. I really don't mind throwing a few quid at it, as it will be worth it to me. My brother has been a mechanic for 30 years and I have helped out now and again over the years, but.....I am not a mechanic.
I want to have a go and see how far I get with a restoration project. I'm in no rush, which is good because shipping to Laos is not straight forward and thing generally take time......
Great to be here... _________________ LaosLad....

Welcome to KK- I think you are first member based in Laos. There are some Kombi parts available in Phillipines and Indonesia as well as Thailand.
Will have a look through our forums to see what I can find

Hi Laoslad,
Welcome to the forum.
What type of work are you doing in Laos?
My brother in law now lives in Laos, he works for an off shore oil company. He is land based.
I believe it is a beautiful country.
You will find this site very helpful and lots of advise offered.
Post a photo when you can.
