A freind of mine came over from Victoria for a visit a couple of months ago. He and his son drove their 77 ex army kombi over but it was no amble across the Nullabor.
They did somthing a little different.
A quick summery of their trip is as follows.
They left Shepparton in Victoria and headed for Adelaide. Once there they got onto the Oodnadtta track to Alice Springs. Then on the Tanami track to Halls Creek and Derby.
Then the Gibb River road and Down to Broome,Cannarvon,Gerldton and on To Perth for a bit if a rest and a catch up with family and freinds.
Then finally back across the Nullabor home to Victoria. All up just over 10000 kms in 34 days.
About ready to hit the road
Camping 1st night Mildura Vic
Oodnadtta Track heading for Alice Springs
A spot of kombi spotting In Alice
On the road again this time the Tanami Track to Derby
End of Tanami 1050 km
Rabbit Fats Road house Tanami
Derby
Wolfe Creek and Fitzroy river
Only drama broken shockie mount no real biggy tough
Dead kombi near Gibb River Road
Gibb River Road
Bogged on Cable Beach just let the tyers down a bit no problem
Great photo Cable Beach Broome
Camping south of Broome
Cannarvon
Slight hic up near Geraldton
Perth for a bit of a rest and catch up with family and freinds
Nullabor Great Australian Bite on the way Home
Home now what?
Just a few photos off what looks like the ultimate kombi adventure. Hope you enjoy

| What a great trip. When I was up in the Kimberleys a couple of years back I thought of the Tanami and the Gibb River Road but the others with me in 4WD and caravans were not keen. So we didn't. I'll have to go back. |
