Well here she is  ... introducing the TARDIS

She is a '75 2L auto pop top that I bought in Melbourne recentlyand drove her to Adelaide via the Great Ocean Drive (magnificent!) and then put her on a car transporter for Perth.
She is now licensed in WA.
This is my first Kombi after a long search and I can't wait to drive her on camping trips.
This was the ideal vehicle for me as the interior is not yet fitted out as a camper (no fridge, cupboards, table etc). Being handy with making wooden items around the home I plan to fit her out myself and will post pictures of the progress which I hope may help and inspire others.

Why did I name her the TARDIS? Well as all Kombi owners know, they are bigger inside than what they appear from the outside, just like Dr Who's Tardis and also because this one transports me back in time to when I had VWs as a teenager.

So look out for me and we can exchange "the wave".

ps - This is a GREAT forum for Kombi owners and was an inspiration for me as I was considering for a long time buying one.

Alice and I had the exact same conversation last week, while relaxing in the back with the lights on in a campsite.... it looked so big!  How do we fit it into parking spots at the supermarket? (usually) ?!! ... Smile We discussed how we should have called my kombi the TARDIS, as it is amazing how much can fit, and how big it feels inside... (we're Doctor Who fans...)

I'm glad you enjoyed the drive down the Great Ocean Road, it is a beautiful part of Victoria.... have fun, and enjoy your kombi! Smile

Great to see the Tardis- it is amazing what you can get in a Kombi and you don't realise it has same wheelbase as a Beetle Smile

Look forward to more pics as Tardis  gets the fitout.

Thanks for comment re KK-it is the contributions from members that make it successful.

Yes Rod,

I had a few things fixed with Mike at Volkshop, O'Connor. This was my first time using this business and I was happy with the service.

Cheers

Steve
