any clues on spring plate removal?....

having a bit of trouble removing the spring plates from 69 bay....any hints?...i've eased the plate over the lug on the lower edge that holds residual tension.....cant seem to budge from there

All my books just say ease over lug with tyre lever or similar- which manual are you using?

ha..got it.....used a 5' extension on the pry bar, torsion bar came with it Confused

Haynes, Clymers, Scientific Publications,Gregorys, InterEurope, and Autobook say lever and most show pics with lever approx 2"-3" from torsion bar.

Hit it with a bigger hammer. Sad
Can you get one side off and push the other out on torsion bar?
