Hi all
yet another question , i have been reading up on fires and fuel pipes , well talk about get you paranoid , dont want it to happen to me.
first where is the best place to get vw german ones, are good make ones just as good ?? allso some are plastic and they look ok ,i need to change the one from the tank to the filter and from the filter to the pump, not in the engine bay so all good,if i take the pipe from the tank will all the fuel come out lol ? but i have a 2 ltr injection and can see one off my injecters pipe has a few small cracks on it , should i change it can i just change the pipe , or does it have to be the whole injecter ?? some pics attached cant realy see the cracks thanks all , should i do it my self { im not bad at cars and engines just paranoid} would it cost alot at a garage

You should always replace fuel pipes if you don't know how old they are-we usually change ours evry 12-18 months
You can get correct fuel lines from those listed in Recommended Suppliers or Parts Suppliers

Hi Madchef, as a rule I change my fuel lines every 18 months but I have reduced the amount of rubber fuel lines as much as possible and replaced it with a steel line. Every now and then I have a visual check for cracks, buldges etc and I also give the line a squeeze in various positions for suppleness. I also double clamp the ends and have wire tied the inlet closest to the carburettor..... you can never be too carefull. If something is proding you change the fuel lines ... mate, don't hesitate change them

Dave, dont get to exited about trimming fuel lines. its more cheaper to just renew them. only cost something like ten bucks a metre. _________________ brian

yes i do think thats a better idea , but these where new , just that they did them to tight , so all good , but the ones under the van / fuel pump and petrol tank ones do need changeing , so will do next week ,
i must admit , when looking up info on your engine , you do get to under stand alot more how they work , cool
