You should get a copy of John Muirs Book- How to Keep your Volkswagen Alive

Thank you, that will be super helpful! I'll be ordering the Muirs book in the next few weeks, I've been told constantly that I need to get it.

You wouldn’t believe it; running low on fuel and it’s raining, pull into a servo and can only get an outside pump. So I brave the elements and grab a nozzle and hide down behind the back as it fills, 16 litres into the fill I realise “NO” I’ve grabbed the DIESEL hose. Can’t drop the fuel there and I’m quite a way from home so I fill with unleaded, and rush home, drop all the fuel and rinse out the tank. Lesson learnt cost me about $60.

Yesterday, fitted all new vac hoses. Then parked bessie out the front of someones house for 6 hours. Punishment for being a stirrer. Laughing
Today, just this few minutes got back from taking the old girl for a 200 k drive.
