I looked at her wistfully sitting in the drive, begging me to change her fuel filter etc and could only promise that it was a job for Sunday when I have someone experienced to help guide me through it.

This link which has lots of info gives detail on how to change filter-fair way down page Item 2.12

You should get a copy of John Muirs Book- How to Keep your Volkswagen Alive

And now i have just finished giving the new exhaust a coat of pot belly black. I know it would have been easier to do before i fitted the exhaust, but i reckon it would have all burnt off as the paint on there had done in less than 2 weeks. it aslo looked terrible, so wire brush and sand paper and then painted. i will give it another coat tomorrow and hopefully it will stay black.  Laughing

Don't use MDF its crap, the only thing I use is 3mm Masonite it lasts longer doesn't suck up moisture and remember the rough side is the covered side but even with Masonite you must handle it with care.

We took our Kombi for its first decent drive, to Dwellingup. The kids loved it and we got a good idea for what's like to feel the road through the steering wheel although the bus moved a fair bit with the windy conditions. Spotted one other bay (baby blue, no pop-top) as we entered Dwellingup, must have been to the Little Miss Sunshine event. The Kombi wave exchanged.Laughing
