Did you drive it to work? Perhaps a quick drive to the shops or did you take it for a proper run?

Perhaps you are working on it or doing a refurb/resto.

It may be sulking if you haven't driven it lately Smile

Just tinkering, my commodore is out of action so I’ve have been driving the Kombi. Fitted a radio a little while ago and now, (sometimes, not all the time) when I put the flasher on and break the radio goes off for a few seconds and then comes back on sometimes I just break and it does it. I have fitted dozens of radios and never had this problem.

Sylvia and I drove to a friend's home in Waterford for dinner. We took the Kombi because my friend owned (and loved) a lowlite camper for 14 years. He sold it in 2005 and has regretted it ever since. I took him out in my camper for a short cruise last night and I think he may now be considering getting another one!
His old one was an orange 1973 lowlite that had the big rearlamps. He saw it again on the road a while ago and it had been resprayed black and white. Is the new owner a member of KK ?????
Mine won't get used now until Alfred's on Wednesday. WHERE I HOPE TO SEE MANY, MANY SPLITTIES AND LATE BAYS to make up for last month !!!!!

I had an eventful weekend with the Kombi,

Wanted to get it ready for the Bridgetown trip, so on Saturday i did an oil change, and then wrecklessly decided to put on my new Dizi (Petronix one) and new Coil,  All on fine,  set the timing and tightened the Dizi in place and snap.  The bolt Sheered off!!  Tipical!!  Spent half an hour rummaging though old bits to find a bolt to replace it with.

Then went to check the tappets, and one of them the tread had died, so couldn't get it in the right place.  Took the screw out to trying and retread it with a bolt, but only made it worse and ended up with the bolt locked in place.......so now it so far out of place i didn't know what to do......(thing weren't going well)   Amazingly managed to find a washer to fit between the bolt though that left me with a perfect .006 gap.  What luck.  Anyway.  At last all was finished and it started up.  Phew!

New Coil and Dizi work really well though, No more 009 flat spot, and definatly improved performance.  Spent all sunday driving round in it. Up to Gilford and then down to Freo!  Sounds different now though.......still trying to figure out why!!!

i took bessie for a drive out to the daughters yesterday and she stunk of petrol all the way. so i lifted the engine lid and she was leaking out the air filter every where, so i gently drove her home and have not started her since. will have a look see on the morrow as cup day today, so will just relax.   Smile

i checked out my little problem yesterday. before i tried to start etc, i removed the air cleaner. then started and she started like a dream. i let her run for 10 minutes. i then ckecked filter etc and put it all back together. when putting the left side back onto the carby, i noticed there was no clip holding that side down. so im thinking that this side may have not been sitting hard down on carby. i cant find the clip or where it may have been trying to hide. so i will work out a way of just putting a cable tie on it for know.

i just drove her down the street for a juice up and she never leaked and never missed a beat.  Smile

started bessie up today to the smell of fuel again. i got out and had a look and had a big puddle of fuel underneath. i opened engine bay and there was fuel spurt like you wouldnt imagine. there was a few hose pieces that seemed to be the problem coming from the t piece area, i had some new hose and cut and fitted one piece. i then took her for a drive of about 10 ks, without any smell or leaks that i could see. so tomorrow when she is cold i will test her again. i think i have now solved the prob. i will take a pic of the hose i replaced tomorrow and show it.
