It was a great event- thanks to all who arrended and contributed to a great weekend.
Good line up from VW Club of WA and a great turn out by ozVolks with Gtis, Taureg, R32s , Bora etc.
It all added to make a great show of VW,s -not sure of final tally but think there were 36 Type 2s in Splitties, Lowlights and late bays and at least 3 T3s.
Beetles were represented in sedan and convertible but amazingly no Type 3s
Thanks to our Judge Rod Slater and those who helped with presentation and my apologies as I had to leave for a while before this as somebody decided to buy my Nissan Trakka nd now the real camper can be finished nd put under cover.
Muresk Institute is already keen for next and Way2cool has great plans for Fairbridge Festival and we were approached by representative of another Community Group whose Town is celebrating its 100 year and would like KK to display.
A special thanks to Diddlie who organised new KK stickers, banners , Trophies and collected camping fees among other bits and pieces.
Thanks also to Richard Hines from VW Club of WA who made special trip to bring up Rocler Racing TRack.
Trophy winners will be posted later and there will be dozens, maybe hundreds of photos.

A very special THANK YOU Brookie, for the fantastic job you did with the organising and planning of the Muresk weekend. Sylvia and I were only able to attend on the Saturday, but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Next major run, we'll be camping with the rest !!!
took a drive out today in my Caddy as my bus is currently having an engine rebuild. Looked like a fun venue and hopefully will be there with my bus next time.
It's usually now that I sort through the 10's of pictures I took and select what I think are the best of the bunch to portray the event and post them up - But muggins here forgot his camera!!! So I'll try and portray with words instead and leave the others to stick the pics up......
The event started for me on friday evening after knocking of work at 4pm to race home and pack the gear into the bus ready to leave at 5pm with Carl n Paula in their Yellow Bay. We had a lovely drive and joined the other campers at Muresk for a very enjoyable evening. I think in all their were 12 vw's. In my opinion (I said this a while back) "if we get more than 10 attend it will be a success". Anything from no on will be a bonus.
We drank, ate and stayed out of the drizzle. Some got pizza delivered (11kms) some drank too much (you know who you are ).
Saturday was an early start! It was the most bazzar thing that I have ever awoke to - The local hot air balloon tour company decided to unpack and inflate, not 1, but 3 balloons about 50mtres from us!!! It was an amazing site.
Saturday saw more arrive.... a DC, a Golf, a syncro (toyota - we'll let em off) and a few others. It was a repeat of friday nights antics and plenty of chat......But no more rain. There was a big debate wether it was colder than friday or not! It was on the chilly side.
We'll today turned out a great in my opinion. The sun was out! We moved the vehicles onto the oval. Set the signs and shade tent up, and waited in anticipation - Was anyone else gonna show up? I think Di counted 27 kombis and there must have been another 15 volksies.
Muresk is about an hour and a half from Perth some travelled further. For a long weekend (with a grand final) it was a good turn out. The tropheys went out, with the exception of one - no type3 showed so the award was renamed a Kim took it out for his inventive roof canopy om his DC.
Patrick took 2 tropheys home for the amazing work he has put into his kombi - You deserve them mate!
We can learn a lot from the experience of this weekend, and make the next even better and more appealing.
To those who attened thank you, to those who are still there - I hope your beer is still cold enough. I hope everyone made home safe n sound and had a good time - I certainly did!
See you next year
Jamie
