It is all a learning curve with VW's my first car was a Beetle, this little bug was in the repairers and off the road for a longer period than I actually had use of it.  Sometimes they can be very naughty, once he gets used to his new foster parents he'll come good and reward you with reliability and love Razz

BJ is right - it is a learning curve.
When we first got Kevin he used to play up all the time, I could never rely on him which was very annoying as I used him as my daily drive to get to work, with no backup!  I got to know the local RAC man quite well.
Be patient all these little things will sort themselves out (with a bit of help) and then you will be in heaven and get so into the pleasure of driving him that you will quite often forget where you are going - or is that just me?

2 things, straps to secure poptop inside - where can I get them from as one is a bit on the short side and is starting to fray and has anyone seen/got a set up like klaus with the rock n' roll bed and the middle seats as we have pushed and pulled and can't get the bed to go down all the way, the middle seats are restricting by about an inch or so -  we would have a rather fetching headboard if we were hobbits though.  KIP have posted photos of the setup but it doesn't look to me as if the seats were bolted in at the time.

Most car trimmers, upholsterers or Camec or even Ranger Camping out your way could probably help with straps.
Somebody told me nearly 12 months ago you can't have your type setup without reducing seat/bed base by 45-50mm.
Is it original bed/seat hinge or aftermarket. If it is original you may be able to move top hinge back about an inch -25mm.

This is orginal

Can you move middle seat forward 40mm or so?
There should be two fasteners on each leg.

There are the bolts that hold the seat in which go through the floor, so do you mean putting another set of holes in?  Can't see why KIP couldn't have put the seats in the correct position in the first place.  Evil or Very Mad

The bolts shouldn't go through the floor- they slide into welded clips
Will try and post pics later      .
