WA DOVW 2007 PhotosGreat day.
Think I will have to make a rocker cover racer for next year.
I counted 22 splitties, pretty sure that is a few more than I spotted at the Melbourne DOVW (I think there was 19ish).
Here is a few shots to start the ball rolling.

I thought that air cleaner was the ants pants.
A lot of hard work been done on that barny, I think it has some Porsche running gear or suspension, will leave it to other people to tell the story as I don't know enough about it.
You will need more than +2 splitties, we know of a quite a few splitties that didn't make the Perth DOVW (including mine ) so the challenge is on.
Hang on a minute, was that challenge laid down by the guy that did the no show at the Melbourne DOVW????

It was a former lefty, great story too.
It is owned by a guy named Peter.
The bus was originally shipped to Australia form Germany by his father.
His father had the conversion done by VW in Germany before he shipped it out.
At the same time they also put on the extra lights on the back and added the bullet indicators to the front.
Peter told us how his father had drummed into them as kids to look and take care when opening the rear doors to get out.

Glad you like the 'Outlaw' BD.... Its my brothers bus.... He's been working on it for 3 years, building it up from a very large POS!
On the rear: It's rolling TIII trailing arms with 944 rear rotors and 996 mono block calipers. The transaxle is a built box with a quaife LSD and all the good stuff. The engine is a very mild 1916 with the usual bits... No need for details... Im glad you like the cake tin air cleaner.... It, along with the Holley have been use on many engines over the years.... I had it an 1835 (in the late 80's), a 1641 (early 90's) and now my bro has it on this....
The front end is loosely based on a CB 2" narrowed LP beam (much modified to fit the BD), 911SC hubs and rotors with the matching 996 mono block calipers to complete the package....
For rolling stock.... It's on fully polished FUCH's all round. 6's on the front, 8's out back....
As for the rest of the car and all bloody amazing work Choppa (thats his tag) has put into it, I'd suggest you check out his blog....
