The site was great thanks to Freemasons Hotel- The chef came out and spoke to members as he loves VWs and has a very nice 75 L Bug in storage in Sydney.
Another guy who will be joining tonight has a 1960 Single cab he will be restoring and a Country Buggy. He lives in Toodyay so some pics should be up shortly.
I have some other photos but will wait until others post. I had shortest distance to go home

Yep, great photos, I'm looking forward to seeing some more... just curious, who owns the bay in the fifth picture that looks like it might be about to roll away? There are some fancy splitties there, they look great... but I can't make out the lowlights, hopefully somone managed to capture them...

Dont know where you get your vision from woz, but you always seem to have eyes wide open. If its the orange one, i would just about think it could be deano's bus. But thats just my guess.

Not rolling away -just driven into place- It is "Karmann Cruiser" a relatively new member . Real name Matt and served his time at VW in Germany as a Fitter & Turner. Now works in gas industry. Really nice guy.

Come to think of it, I actually don't remember any low lights being there.

I think it belonged to a young couple from Melbourne, or a german couple who rather than drive round, drove straight over the bank!!
|
Piratekombi

I thought it was them! I met them once, and checked out their kombi's mods, before they headed off from Melbourne - they were friendly and enthusiastic... I like the colour, it is a pretty neat kombi.

I love those pictures! That's a great DC... and the photo outside the auto shop is wonderful...! It's amazing to see so many splitties (and other kombis) out and about together (rather than, say, on a concourse)...

Feedback has been great- next is in planning stage and Toodyay 2008 is looking good.
Bigger, better and brighter but some other happy runs/cruises before that.
Don't forget Lobus is trying organise cruise from Perth to Fremantle the night before DOVW.
We also want to talk to NoH20 collective before our new plans get too far down the track.
