No room for a cat under there.... Smile
splitfamily4tune8*

now thats a good look Cool .........particularly with those us spec bumpers.....

did you bring the bus with you? do it up here? ............

peter
VLKSWGN

Cheers mate, the us spec bumpers were a must for me.......

I got the bus over here, had it about 4 years and it didnt look like this. It was purple when i got it, with hippy style curtains and a whole lot of rot.

The Bus moved to Aus with its owners in 1971, not sure why they didnt just get one over here? I would put that down to the attachment thing i guess.

Steve
Scotia

HI Steve, your bus looked great on Sunday at Toodyay, love the colour, very smart. photos do not do it justice.
splitfamily4tune8*

gotta ask....cant help myself Confused .........rear end mods? IRS or straight axle, adjusters? front end narrowed? 4 inches? dropped spindles? adjusters? bit hard to see the wheels, engine mods?.......sorry about all the Q's Very Happy ....

peter
VLKSWGN

Hi Peter, see Splitty Section...

Steve.
VLKSWGN

Another one!
Piratekombi

Looks great.... it is certainly low.... but I noticed your number-plate, here in Vic I don't think you can get one with more than 6 letters....

So is there no room inside for your wheel, or is it on the roof to justify your rack...? Very Happy

It certainly looks fun.... Smile
VLKSWGN

If you look at the Toodjay pics, you should a noticed that it has been raised about an inch all round, all to do with the front beam set-up, also some bitz n bobz have been added to the rack since this pic was taken.... I want to put mass gadgets on this bus, u never kno when u may need to live in it!
Maharg

Hey Bro...

Bus looking sweet as...

Maharg

VLKSWGN

Thanks Graham, im lovin that Cool  don't suppose you asked the owner if he wanted to swap it for a Splitty? Very Happy
Archeress

IF i had a beetle im not sure whether i would want a rat, the beelte out of the movie "the cars that ate paris" or a shiny stock standard.
OberonViking

Ahhh, The Cars That Ate Paris. Great film. We went to Sofala on the weekend, just for something different to do for a lunch.

I think I'd like a Sleeper in a beetle, looks stock, maybe erring on the rat-look a little, but with a powerplant and gearbox to lift the front wheels in first and second. Not that I am a rev-head at all....
BJ

That Beetle is Tuff, and Maharg I can see why you thought of Steve!!
VLKSWGN

Some more pics, these are from a while ago........

These more recent.........

OberonViking

That's something I like to see, your bus is getting some real use, judging by the kids stuff on and in your bus. Love the milk crate.
Great pictures, beautiful splitty.
humpty

And it looks loads better with the rims painted black too.... Wink

Piratekombi

That carpeting looks great! (and is giving me some ideas for my cupboards...) The cammo also came up well.... Smile  I also like the idea of having three drink holders for each of the driver and passenger - looks ideal for those slim euro-beers.... Very Happy
VLKSWGN

Cheers Woz, it's marine carpet, very durable.....just in case the kombi fills up with water Laughing  For me, beers have to be incorporated into the design of any interior Laughing  Mate, it's a shame you wont be at Muresk, could of had a Beer n chat Sad  Anyway im sure there will be awsome posts after the show in Event Reports Very Happy  watch this space for carpeting the roof........ Thanks Steve... I look forward to seeing the roof.

Yeah, I am disappointed I can't make it to Muresk this year - maybe I'll have that beer n chat at next year's event?  Watching all this excitement really makes me wish I was going to be there....

Alice and I plan/hope to be living in a different state by next year, for a bit of a change (Al comes from Tassie originally anyway).   We don't know where we'll end up yet, we are leaving all options open.  It is likely to be WA, Qld or the NT though... so maybe next year we'll be having regular drinks at Alfreds! Smile  It would be nice to see splits on the road rather than just in pictures... Very Happy
VLKSWGN

Let me help you with your decision!

MOVE TO W.A.

Ok, thats that sorted Wink

Why would you consider other States- Tassie & Q,land are great for holidays-Vic great for shopping and visiting out best WA footballers, SA has some good wines, NT used to have no speed limits, so the West is obvious place to live.
What sort of jobs are you after Smile

For me - it doesn't really matter, I will try anything... I am really just tagging along for the ride - Alice will be looking for a graduate job (with two degrees, plus honours) working in Health Sciences... it is her job that will determine where we end up! Smile
Diddlie

Plenty expansions with hospitals etc here (as well as closures  Confused )
Brookie

With a new Health Minister and a Health Dept that had to fit in with AFL re-organised something may happen Rolling Eyes
