ute resto!

hi all, thought i'd post some pics of the ute i am currently restoring. i've had it for over a year now and progress has been a bit slow! its a '65 model built in '64.

that is just brilliant dave.
i new it was way out of my league to do what your doing when i owned it.so glad you came along and bought it of me.i remember the extent of all rust issue's in her,your repair work and pic's are very pleasing for me. will you keep it the origonal colour? still love that canopy though dave.

OK not really. but heres a model that bj and vlkswgn made for me to give me a bit of inspiration to get the real one done. this is pretty much what the ute should look like when it is finished. thanks a million guys, i think its working.

yeah im afraid the canopy could be in a duck pond by now! couldnt even give it away, allthough it was damn heavy and needed a resto itself and i just wasnt going to use it. possibly interested in doing some welding for ya split2nd.

ok, there has been a bit more progress. finished off a couple a bits of welding



then gave it a quick coat of colour before taking to the pits


and it passed with only a few adjustments. what a day to take it down though! a kombi with no seals leaks big time Laughing  just got to get the licence on monday then thats it for a while. the plans are to take it back to bare metal and do the bodywork and paint it the same colour it is now. Cool
