Rear engined vehicles use sway bars much like a race car-as well as assisting roll centre the rear bars assists in controlling front end and front bar the rear end.

That is a very interesting article, though I am not sure if I should upgrade the front sway bar, or put one on the back...
Thoughts and experiences?

Stock sway bars on Kombi is best-make sure mountings are OK- more important to have correct tyres and pressures and GOOD shock absorbers

That's good then, that's a big part of the reason Emma wants everything stock on her bus.

With family bus I would even keep tyres to 185/195 range.
If you have opportunity try and swap wheels with someone with 205+ and try over same route with varied surfaces-bitumen, gravel, sand etc, wet and dry.
If you have a lot of wet/damp road driving 185 is tops.
