These guys are hardcore, this is the madest road trip. There are more vids to watch on this annual event if you search "Shasta" In part 1 they are repairing a box in the snow.

Wow! I just saw this post. I drive the SST and it's a blast. This year I offered a ride to anyone on the Irish forum and had 3 takers. We had a blast and I got to drive the Bullet Bus a 21 Window which had been found in the desert shot full of holes ( about 40 lbs of lead was removed from the bus) and rescued. Anybody from Austrailia want to come over for 2009 I'm already starting the prep on a 1967 Walk through???

talk about bringing back memories, that would be so much fun. I used to love driving in the snow. I don't think our trip back from Valla will be quite that exciting.

Driving in the snow used to terrify me, I had to get people to chauffer me places when it was really heavy which thankfully wasn't very often.

Britt - you're da Man! How long is the trip (Days/miles) it looks like the best fun going. Do the heaters make any difference in those conditions?
I have watched many short movies on Youtube that cover the trip, it looks like a right mission.

Last time I checked it was 436 miles. We leave ( or try to leave) at 4:30 am and usually do it in 1 day, and arrive sometime around midnight. It's all secondary dirt roads with several altitude changes, a few creek crossings and lots of fun. The group is very diverse and a great bunch. Heaters are a must. This year the BB had no heater so I wore my Fishing chest waders and a set of snow ski trousers on top. Good boots are a must also. I towed a 58 Panel who broke a stub axle up the hill in the snow for about 9 miles, it was so much fun.
