roof racks for pop tops

i want to put a roof rack for surfboards and kit on top of my pop top
i've seen some which are attached to the pop top- though i'm not sure how strong they'd be
to put bars at the front and back is too long for the board, and to put 2 at the front is probably too short a gap for a long board Embarassed

any solutions Idea

I have seen adjustable roofracks that might be able to be attached to the guttering adjacent to the pop-top... if you check out camping stores etc you might be able to find some high enough to pass over your poptop (although I have never checked myself). Of course, this would prevent you raising your roof, but a least you would be able to go surfing...

I'd be interested in how you go Adam, not for surfboards though, just can't see us being able to fit all the stuff we take on a camping trip into the kombi so I was looking at starpping a child or two to the roofrack!
