RHR Intro

Greetings... My name is Rod Slater (Aka RHR).

My partner (Brigitte) and I attended yesterdays 'Konnection' day at Muresk, where I was the 'judge', we camped overnight in our Ford Transit Turbo Diesel and had a really enjoyable time.

I am joining today, Monday 29th September 2008, at the invitation of Warren Mathews, whom I have known for almost 50 years.... but please don't hold that against me.

I am probably the equivalent to a Volkswagen 'anti-christ' having had a 49 years 'love affair' with Renault!..... The closest I ever got to 'owning' a Beetle was during a Rally, in the early '60's when, in a cloud of dust, my Renault 8 met HEAD-ON with Ross Dunkertons Beetle.... luckily we allsurvived.... both cars and crew!

Tho I will probably never convert to becoming a VW lover, I do admire their engineering and worldwide success and I look forward to 'popping in here' for the occassional chat... if you would allow a one with such a strong 'French Connection' to do so????

Regards
Rod.

welcome to the club, we'll forgive you for owning Renaults (used to own a Renault 4 van back in the UK) we will try to make you see the light I am sure.  Hope you enjoy many chats on the forum and you could even come on our runs and be the pilot vehicle so we can get some good photos of the convoys?

Oooh, that looks like it would be a lot of fun!

I reckon Alice will love it - she's into the small cars with good power to weight ratios (eg she often points out early Toyota Corollas - and especially Mazda Capellas !!!!  And we both agree we want a Mini Cooper...)
