Questions Questions Questions!

Hey all
As a newbie,i decided to get a bay last weekend.
1 day later i find an awsome low light project on the side of the road when i took a wrong turn, left my number on the window and hey presto,it looks like ive bought a bay!
The owner says it is a 73 model. Its a driver that hasnt really been used for a while. Is very very straight with the only visible rust to be in the rear corner of the roof and a couple of bubbles elswhere.
It is a yellowy custard sorta colour with a white roof, has little quarter windows in the main side windows (if ya know what i mean)
Looks real good underneath, glass is ok but the rubbers are a bit buggered,no biggy there as the owner is a glass fitter,SWEET!
Am going to turn it into a rat,low n slow.
First question if i may post it here.
How much trouble is it to get it lowered? Want it pretty low front and rear.
Similar to attached photo below.
Can the 1600 twin port engine from my 63 beetle be installed and will it match the kombi gearbox? (I know NOTHING about vw's)
What sorta 15inch wheels can be fitted? its got 14's now. I want standard skinny wheels with possibly 135 or 145 tyres
Are panels available to cover up windows to turn it into a panel? Not a major thing i wanna do but a panel would be cool.
Cheers for any help

Lowered Buses ride poorly unless you spend lots of money. They do look cool but I drive my Bus down dirt roads so I like the clearance and ride qualities of a etock bus. If you must buy dropped spindles for the dront and reindex the tortion bars at the rear.
