SYDNEY, Feb 9 AAP - Police believe an orange Kombi van sold in northern Queensland in 1999 might help solve a decade-old murder in NSW.
¶ The body of 29-year-old Rachael Campbell was found in the grounds of St Joseph's Church in inner-Sydney Rosebery on November 7, 1998.
¶ In January, Perth man Richard Edward Durrough, 31, was arrested and charged with her murder before being extradited to NSW where he is before the courts.
¶ The commander of the NSW Police homicide squad said investigations into Ms Campbell's death were continuing.
¶ Detective Acting Superintendent Russell Oxford said inquiries had revealed a man bought the 1974 Volkswagen Kombi Transporter from a private seller in the Innes Park or Bundaberg areas of Queensland in 1999.
¶ Police are now looking for the van, he said.
¶ "We would like to hear from anyone who knows of the Kombi's current location," he said in a statement on Monday.
¶ "The Kombi's VIN/Chassis number is 2342170691.
¶ "There was also some damage to one of the Kombi's rear bumpers at the time it was last seen."
¶ Anyone with information on the van is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000
