petrol leak 77 KombiI have a fuel problem; when I fill the tank it overflows under the bus, if I siphon some out it stops. I think the upper rubber pipe at the filler neck is damaged and needs replacing, but also understand that to do this job the motor has to be removed.
My question is can I cut a new inspection hole in the right hand rear inside metal around the filler area to gain access to the rubber hose and make the repair or replacement.

i guess you could...but what if you go to all that trouble only to find a rust issue with the tank and have to remove it anyway!! you know its not really going to take that long to pull the motor

Some models you can do without engine removal but can't remember which.
These links have pics and instructions about all fuel connections including part no.s

that looks too difficult
i think i've got the same problem- if i overfill the tank, fuel comes out- if i'm facing the engine- bottom right face- the fuel oozes out around the foam- it only seems to be a problem when you overfill!
i'm not a mechanic- how much would it cost for someone to do it and how urgent is it?
did you get yours fixed aussie trimmer?
thanks

fuel leakNot yet, I just don’t fill it up all the way for the moment and i'm still driving it, my daughters bus goes into Karl Lang for a check up etc and my problem gets worked on next. Karl said it’s a bugger of a job but he can do it with out taking out the motor, so I’m leaving it to the expert. Give me interiors and I’m a wiz don’t know nuthin about them thingamjigs in the back. Call Karl he’ll fix it for ya, he’s a good old boy don’t know what I’ll do when he chucks it in.
