Hi Joel
Welcome to KK and nice to see link to your find.
Shows that  there many Kombis  waiting for new owners to find them.

Looks like it is still pretty straight apart from a few little "bumps" Smile

I will definatly be at DOVW... im tossing up the idea of dragging her along... though I dont know.

As for her being straight well, I been stipping her out over last few night cleaning er up, seem she's had a front enda sometime in her life. The floor in the cab area is all pushed up. So gonna be fair bit of work staightening that out Razz Will be organsing new metal panels very shortly... Very Happy

Oh windscreens also save allot of water damage!

So far though all the bolts have moved no realt stubborn ones yet, which amazes me.

The more I do on it the more im starting to like it. Im actually like the rusty parts on her, ie the indicator stalk gear shifter etc... haha funny

Anyway's catch ya about.

ps. I should probably get a thread up on here as well.

I get December '64 too.

So that makes your bus a '65 model given that model years start in August of the previous year.

Cool!! Cheers guys much appreciated  Very Happy

Now to organise some new metal, woohoo!
BJ

Do drag it all to DOVW if you can - It will show the dedication and commitment people like yourself are prepared to make.

Good luck with the resto Cool
Mustard Man

So hows it all going?

We want updates and pictures!!!   Razz

Things are going well, pretty much taken all lights, seats and other components off it... the Paint stripping has slowed down due to more difficult area's. I will get araond to posting some more progress soon.  Very Happy

have made an equiry about all the front panels i require, to Elton on DSK. Awaiting an invoice then they will be on the there way and the cutting and grinding welding can begin. looking forward to this part. Will be new but I fairly sure I know the process...  I am planning on starting at the front and working my way backwards... ie in 3 sections Front-Middle-Back. I figure this should split up cost nicely and also I can see milestones... There is a fair bit of panel work needed...

Then I want to get it fairly low, so beam needs doing. also gotta decide the approach for rear either straight axel or IRS... will decide later...

And wheels/ tyres  Rolling Eyes

interior  Rolling Eyes

paint or not paint  Rolling Eyes

Ibut all this deciding is fun cause it my bus!

Oh and I am looking to drag it along to DOVW, luckily I have access to a trailer!  Very Happy

Thanks for the interest!

Joel

Good on you for bringing it along to DOVW - Looking forward to seein this
Mustard Man

Ha, loads of ideas there.......where do you start.

Im the same, just get so carried away.  Half the fun though hey!

Can't wait to see it DOVW.
DeRrO

Some more piccies for you fellers... As im sure you are aware I dragged it to DOVW, had a ball! I was quite surpised at the interest in mine actually! Allot of poeple checking her out so it was worth taking her. I guess a new Kombi on the scene is always good.

Some nice detail I uncovered... im planning on getting someone to paint another on when finished.

IM RICH... not quite hehe. Some finds while cleaning it out.

Anyone know where you can get parts for old caravan windows... 15 years in the weather hasnt help these out so much

And the progress so far on the stripping, has slowed a bit though I am making progress

Very Happy
Brewmaster

No wonder there was so much interest in your splittie.

You have a great project there that I am sure many of us would watch its progress with great interest.

Best of luck with it

Cheers
Brett
