4 POSTS DOWN IN THE SPLITTY SECTION
MANY MORE PICTURES - AROUND 100 !
I had the idea to have a Post of pictures of splitscreens that I have photgraphed here in Perth. Then I thought it would be good for everyone to contribute so we can build a database just to see how many there are here
Below is my collection and others that people have emailed me (some are not so clear/good) so if you have a better picutre or one that you prefer (or if you want your bus removed PM me or email jamiebarrett@optusnet.com.au)
I know of 9 more that I will seek out pictures of and add over time..
Enjoy and please add........................

the black/orange panel i sold a bit over 18 months ago.
sold it to a lady (lizzy).she owned a dog grooming business in north beach, she used to park it out on the main road for advertising purposes.it was up for sale again around 6 months back(carsales),it basically sold overnight for 20k.so dont know if it is in pommy land or still cruizin' here in the west,or elsewhere in this country.
would be nice to know where it ended up!!
it was one of those sales when you see it leave your home, and you say to yourself:WHAT HAVE YOU DONE!!
share the love i suppose.

Yeah that ones still here, owned by the same guy thats got the blue barndoor - Theres a few of us that reckon that, that 15 window is the nicest bus here, we certainly have a soft spot for it.

Hey mate you'll be happy to know that double door panel in Bridgetown has had a start made on it. Was there for work a couple of days ago and called in for lunch at the cafe. Her husband has towed it out from under the lean-to and managed to get the motor running. The body work is next on the list so hopefully another year or two and that one will join the list
|
BJ
|
That' s good news, thought for sure that it would sit there and disapear into the ground. Perhaps we gave them inspiration!!!

I'll see if I can rustle up some pics..... And I just remembered.... We have a few more in the works... My bro has a very cool 57 panel that is waiting its turn, another mate has a ratty 11 window that is getting some TLC, yet another full resto and slam job is being done on an 11 window Micro and another resto-cal 66 (?) DC that has just been imported from the US....
I'll see if I can find some shots of our little lot, but the last three you are gonna have to wait on... The owners are waiting for the unveiling...
|

I had a look around....

Which one.... My Bro's BD or the one in the paint shop pic?... My Bro's is getting a new transaxle at the mo.... Couldn't get reverse to work right in the HiPo box.... The one in the paint shop is getting the mechanical stuff done now... Paint is done.... The interior is coming together and I'm working on the suspension now.... So its slowly coming together.... But it prolly wont be complete for a while....

few more from over the years, many of these are now undergoing restos, though i am sure you poms have taken some of these , .. there where many we did`nt get pics of that have gone OS..
........i wonder if people looking at these pics realise most of the busses over here are now being imported back into the country and our state..being only 1 mil population out of 16mil across oz, meant we actually did`nt start with many, lets leave some for our kids to find..

this single went for $3.5 recently, strange as it was advertised for $400, with full price agreed (sight unseen), and adress in hand, i headed of to pick up, only to get phones calls on way saying each caller was offereing more $`s on top..me having to match each new price ..by the time i got there..it had become a joke..turning into an open auction by seller..all before 8am on morning of add....bizarre times
some of these pics are repeats of same busses, welcome to delete as see fit..pssold this orange one to Mike from scarb last week..give him any advise if you bump into him..k

when i read BJ`s reply, "Damn, whos storing all these busses?" it occured to me that i have taken all those pics..meaning some subtle beer bribery could loosen tight lips..haha..now i`ll have beer tax to keep quite aswell..win win!!..
disclaimer 4 foto cred..bernies orange 58 pic he sent me before it landed here, as did my mates (who drove up to whyndam for me to grab the ice cream bus), sent me the tourist route pics...see attached link to this amusing cruise..the old girl was taken to all the landmarks...think they went for the beer, not the bus, although it is said there were a few quite bevvies sunk in her @ remote locations).haha

ps..just remembered waynes 58 also..he can up load..plus the ones we cant show..all those really secret fotos that no amount of beer would stop the pain from camel bites and crusties

I think the one with the Rip Curl sticker could be the Albany one ???
I forgot about it, it was on Ebay last year but wasn't sold.
If it isn't, then another WA split would be the Albany one.

I was wondering how long it would take before someone asked for an M code plate.
It actually isn't as much help as you think, well it hasn't been for me so far.
Its hard to read in the photos because it has been painted (glued over I think) at one point so I will type it in.

Local bloke, had it for about a year I think and was purchased from a guy in Melbourne.
Hardly any rust, was lucky to survive a Subaru motor without too many scars (notice the cut in the front bumper for the radiator hoses) and has a 1600 TP now and is able to be driven.
The owner is planning to restore her before he drives her and is planning a top notch resto.
I am sure he will make him self known to the KK soon because he is looking forward to meeting a few like minded people rather than tyre kickers.
I believe 21's may be less common than 23's (not that you see many of them either)
