If only I had checked my messages earlier, I would have had time to pick up that free semi-restored split.... too late now!   
If you got to "Profile" at the top, you can set your "Preferences" to notify you upon arrival of a PM (by email), and also have a pop-up window inform you (when logged in).... that way, you won't miss out on that imaginary split!
