Paint supplyWas told by agents for Spie & Hecker that many older colours will not be available after 30th June next year especially enamels which are the most suited for Kombis and older vehicles.
This includes oranges, yellows and reds as all the tints for these colours still have small quantities of lead which is completely banned from 30th June 2009.
If you want to paint closest to original you had better order your paint well ahead.

There are several shades of orange/red that I quite like.... thanks for the great info Warren!!!
Mmmm, with the near-collapse of the US financial system, maybe now is the time to invest in paint futures (ie stick a few tins in the shed)...

What sort of paint are you thinking of (eg two-pac or acrylic, or even enamel), are you after an original VW colour or a particular colour (which may affect your options), are you planning to paint it yourself or pay someone to do it (they may have their own paint sources, or get a trade discount)?
If you are not too fussed, you could try a paint store and enquire there (and look at colour swatches...)
Hopefully others from over there can give you specific advice... Good luck!

S & S Enterprises
25 Rothschild Place Midvale 9274 6566
Ask for Scott though others are good.
Acrylic enamel is only way to go IMO.
You can get matching "bog", spray putty, primer, paper etc etc all at S & S.
They supply to trade.
Do you know colour/s you want.

Blue... no no green... no no blue....
There are a lot of shades - that one doesn't look like a VW colour. It would probably be easiest to take the picture to the paint shop...
