New member From the East CoastMy name is Bill.
I am a 59 year old VW eccentric.
I have a restored 58 Camper with a locally made original Aussie Conversion (by Henderson Coachworks) fitted to the vehicle when it was new. The vehicle is powered by the original 36hp motor and has been restored some 10 years ago
Apart from being into Splittes I am also into Country Buggies and I maintain the Australian Country Buggy Register.

Hello Bill, welcome to the Kombi Konnection! Aren't we all eccentrics?
Country Buggies you mention? I love them! I don't have one (yet!), but everytime I look at pix (or see them at shows) I start getting excited... they are truly a uniquely Australian vehicle - and one day I really hope to get one of my own!
I also love the sound of your original 58.... I don't know anything about Henderson Coachworks, but would be curious to find out more.... I would expecially love to see pix!
Have fun!

Hi Bill,
Welcome to KK- you will be popular with a 58 and a camper as well.
We have one member with a Country Buggy which he is restoring but he is a bit quiet on here.
Look forward to some photos when you get a chance.

Attached are some pictures of the "Paddle Pop" I have had it for 14 years now and are very attached.
The Country Buggy Register can be found at

and the Australian Country Buggy Story at

Have been around the VW scene in and about NSW for 30 years and was one of the three guys who restored and shipped a Country Buggy and replica of the Antarctica One Beetle over to Germany in 2003 to attend the vintage VW meeting at Bad Camberg near Frankfurt.
