Hi,

So here are the pics of my 72 Microbus.  I got her back in late jan 08, a few months after arriving from Oxford,UK.  Still learning about it, but from what i've gathered its a crossover, so it's got the low lights on the front and the oblongs on the rear.  Seems to be mostly original inside, standard Type 1 engine, with a few small add ons.

Done the standard new vehicle things so far, new oil in the engine and gear box, filters etc.  My first exciting thing was setting the gap on the valves, (tricky but fun).  Then i've got myself a Petronics Elec Ignition to keep things a little simpler and done the timing.

As to the future.....i just want to get her as mecanically sound as poss, so i can go off on Random road trips down south etc...that will involve some kind of bed in the back? Pull all the breaks appart, new gaskets through out, etc.  But then i'd like to really start cleaning out the inside and refubin her......keeping the original theme, but all fixed and working and shiny.  Maybe fresh paint and some cheeky extras too.

What i'd love to get is just an engine, that i can pull apart, clean and put back together.....then i can tinker and learn with out trashing Mustard.  Anyone happen to have one lying around??

Well, enjoy the pics.

Nice lookin' bus there Mustard.

Looks like she might have been a Delux Microbus too (missing chrome on the waist but seems to have the air ducts on the front doors and bling on bumpers and front air intake)

I have a close relative to your bus in my driveway, another '72 Kombi in the same colour.

Funny enough i had considered turning an old bus into a mobile pizza hut, with an old wood fired pizza stove.  I could turn up to meets and serve pizza. Brilliant.

BJ.......Eminem....yeah im a fan...most hiphop stuff suites me...older stuff is better mind.  Ill Comunication...best HH album ever!!!!

Im hoping to get to fast eddies on sunday morning actually.  Just to see other VWs and learn a thing or two.  Planning of having a tinker on saturday, so if it starts on sunday morn that is.
