Manjimup/Bridgetown trip - all welcome

Sam in Manjimup has suggested the weekend of 10-11th November.

>From Sam:

"I've checked with my social director and she's suggested that the
10th & 11th of November would be the right weekend as the "Blues in
Bridgetown" festival will be on the Saturday and Sunday. The Blues
( www.bluesatbridgetown.com ) is a huge weekend for Bridgetown
attracting around 20,000 people.

Accommodation around Bridgy is usually done over, however Manji is
only 30kms on and there are caravan parks, pubs, motels etc. or you
can park up at my hangar and I have a toilet and shower there which
you can all use.

Throw that weekend around as a idea, but it probably would be the best
as their will be lots on and the weather should be a whole heap better
than now."

Was thinking we could maybe head down real early Saturday and attend
the free street party and concerts in Bridgetown, stay Sat night in
Sam's hangar and Sunday cruise back to Perth via Margaret River region
(check out some waves and a winery etc) - be back in Perth late sunday
night.

Manjimup, i love that name.

I had dealings with a nice bloke there at timber mill for about 6 years, at my last job. but i dont member his name any more. Old timers must be setting in.

Well what a great weekend, great music, beer all day and glorious sunshine! Didnt get too burnt either which makes a change!

My poor van broke down on the way back though at Mandurah, sat at a long queue at a set of lights as some car caught fire I think, couldnt quite see...anyway after a few mins I started seeing a lot of smoke coming out the back of my van and decided to pull over into a industrial estate in the shade to see what was wrong, looks like a oil seal has broken and oil was all over the engine and i had lost a lot of oil.

Luckily we had plenty of beer and also had a dominos pizza delivered to us by a young lad who thought we were just having a random party so all wasnt too bad. 5 hours later we get picked up by the RAC and I finally get home about 10.30pm!

Will have to see what the damage is when I have a proper look tonight.

Anyway managed to get a few pics (did have more but the drunken missus deleted a few by mistake)....
