This is another interesting link as it show what can be done with VW transmissions and varied engines with commonsense applications.Has pics etc
While some criticise VW trannies saying the 3 rib is not as good as the 5-or 6 rib there is possibly far more 3 ribs handling big power than the 5-6 rib versions. They are all basically the same and have been modified, converted etc for may many years. This is an old thread but thought you may be interested that I have been running a Lokka locking diff in the camper for the past 200,000 km. This included a round Australia trip a couple of years back, many other camping trips as well as a daily driver from Bungendore to Canberra. It has proven quite awesome with no ill effects. The gear box is a standard '82 four speed. | ||
