Life after Valla!

Valla is over - what a great show, lots of VW's of all shapes and sizies, colours and engines.  I've taken lots of photos but as I'm on the expensive Big4 internet I don't think I will have time to download them tonight - will try my best to post at least a few.  Met Kiznet (Kyra) even bought a t-shirt and hat off her.  Great lady great gear.
Brian is sadly not going to make it for the drive back with us, problems with his engine, everyone else has backed out so we are on our own.  Looking forward to the adventure.
Setting off for Tamworth tomorrow, home of country music - yeeha!!!
watch this space for more of the adventure.

They are great pics Jean- sorry it's a return trip with only Kevin in convoy and we have done many trips across in various cars and loved it each time.

We're back in WA safe and sound.  Kevin ran like a dream, no problems at all.  I broke my camera though and now I can't get my photos off the memory card so you will have to wait for more photos till I get it sorted.  What a fantistic trip though, if you've never done it I would highly recommend it.  We didn't go down to Adelaide but cut straight across through Armidale and Tamworth - sooooo cold, glad we left the heater connected.  Went down round Port Lincoln and then to Ceduna and acorss the Nullarbor, we have the sticker and certificate to prove it.  In fact Kevin has quite a few new stickers.

Sorry Bricat never got down your way this time would have been good to have a coffee with you, maybe next time or if you come to WA it would be great to meet you.

Watch this space for photos!

Nice to see you back and good to hear you had such a great trip.
BJ

Well done and welcome back.

Did you add up your fuel costs for the trip across? Interested.
Scotia

sorry BJ I'm flat out trying to catch up with tafe work so I haven't been doing much else since I got back apart from having a quick look on the site when I can.
Anyway to answer your question, fuel cost was $1264 and we did 5384kms.  I don't think thats too bad for an automatic especially as we only used premium.
I am working on the photos, I am trying to put them all on a link that you can just click on (there are quite a few).
BJ

No problem at all, sounds like you are flat out and need another holiday already Wink

Hi,

Pics are amazing......sooooo many kombi's......wow!!

How long did the 90 mile road take you?  And what sort of speeds would you do most the time?
Scotia

seems so long ago now  Sad   90 mile road took us about an hour but is so boring it seemed longer and our speed was an average 110 to 120.  It was a great trip and hopefully we can do it again it 2010.
