Kombi Spotting Challenge!Here is a challengeI have set for aspiring kombi spotters but with a twist ...... the spotter has a specific target (kombi) in mind.
I have done this on the KC with the target being our very own "Otis" the 73 orange surf bus who will spend the next week down the Gold Coast with some dear friends who are having their first family holiday with their 4 year old boy.
The Kombi Spotting Challenge is called "Where's Otis?" and members of the forum report when and where they spot Otis over the week .....
......a sighting is good ....... but a photo of "Otis" is better ...... or the creme de la creme is to have a photo of you with Otis and our friends.
So ......keep your eyes peeled for Otis as he spends a week on the Gold Coast this week.
Kombi Waves, photos of Otis on the Gold Coast and posted on the KK or better still photos of you with our friends could earn many smiles from our friends and some good vibes for you.
So all those KK'ers give Dieter, Toni and Gus big kombi waves as they pop up over the Gold Coast this next week.
We left their place this morning and have already received a couple of phone calls about the fun they are having cruising down the Gateway and the M1, especially the kombi waves they are getting.
If you see them give them a big wave or even take a photo and post it here.
Keep your eyes peeled for Dieter, Toni and Gus in Otis. Let's see how many hits we get over the week.
You never know ...... it could be a new thread where we look for one particular kombi each week to see how many hits we get.

A bit of funIt's only a bit of fun really.
As our friends drove off today they had such huge grins on their faces it made us smile.
Hopefully they will get many waves and even have some KK or KC members approach them over the week.
Try to make those grins even bigger.

I think that you're just trying to get the whole of Oz to check up on your mates, making sure they are looking after your Kombi !! Ha Ha Ha!!! - Just joking!
Hope they have a fantastic holiday. They will probably become Members of KK on their return!

Actually ......Actually ......
Our friends have run us today and they now want to get rid of the VW Bora (Toni's car) and buy a kombi. Not bad for just having it for 24 hours.
Kombi waves, pretty young things coming up to admire Otis have convinced both Toni and Dieter that they wish toi rid themselves of modern plastic cars even if they are VW's and buy their own kombi.
For the week we have the use of Dieter's work ute ..... Cruiser 4WD and this make help tow poor old Wilfred ( the love of my life ....... my 74 SC Ute ......... errrr after Toni of course ......opps .....) up to Maryborough to have his heads done and be converted to gas.
The Cruiser will tow Wilfred on on car trailer so it is a great swap for the week with both sides having a great time .
