Had my kombi ramsacked last night , but all they had was my ashtray, bummer , went out this morning and my door was open ( i never lock it the wife says i told you so ) but if i had locked it they might have broken the door, it had around $15 in change for a burger lol in the ashtray, must be very sad people in this world , the funny thing was , i fishing gear was in the back lol and they never spotted it , thank god, never mind no damage, just need an ashtray now, HAS ANY ONE GOT ONE SPARE/ SALE thanks all

Must be a new craze- Vanders who is in Launcestion had same thing happen to him.
Only ashtray taken- others seem to be reporting similar in other states Smile

Maybe it was the windscreen washer guys??

They have probably decided hi-jacking people and washing their windscreen (with a squeegee they stole from the closest servo) for some coin from your ashtray is too hard.

They have decided that they are not getting paid enough and they are working too hard.

Maybe they have realised that nobody ever really wanted their window cleaned, lets face it, everybody has windscreen wipers on their car anyway. So now they just swing past your house and take your ashtray and all your coins.

They need to take your ashtray in order to carry the coins away because they refuse to wear belts (so they can have their pants half-way down, home boy chic).

If they tried to fill their pockets with the coins they wouldn't be able to get away because the extra weight would pull them down so far they would get tangled in their pants.

Actually, these guys haven't been around so much lately, maybe K-Rudd gave them all 1k so they could save the economy.

When I was 18 I worked in a servo (shudder) near Canning Bridge. The freeway off ramp onto Canning hwy is a favourite haunt for the windscreen washers. They used to steal our windscreen squeegies all the time. The other men and the older womyn who worked at the same servo used to tease me because the only time they were ever returned after being "borrowed" was on my shift Rolling Eyes

What’s with these people is there a campaign of terror toward Kombi owners; my ash tray is out of my bus until all this blows over.

Last week my daughters Kombi was targeted, they took the ashtray but nothing else. It looked like someone had sat on the back of the roof and dented it down, I popped it back up from inside but it still shows some crease marks in the roof.

It happened in Subiaco while she was at work (works late) or Wembley where she lives and the Bus sleeps on the front verge. No it wasn’t locked, she thought her rear hatch was locked but it wasn’t. They climbed in over the rear seat and lifted the ashtray then went out the side sliding door leaving that open. Don’t know why they sat or stood on the roof, might have been a victory show off thing. (I got one) Would have been nice to see who ever it was sliding off the back of the roof after being hit in the buttocks with a lode of salt shot.
I checked the You Tube site to see if there was some crusade against Kombi ashtrays or some dick showing off but couldn’t find anything, not being of the Ygen I find it hard to navigate through there so it’s no wonder I failed, need one of the kids to do some detective work for me.
Asked the Bay guys on the Samba if they are experiencing simular thefts, I will check responses in the morning.
Yeah I can see those bad boys in their big pants half way down to their knees showing their boxer shorts, covered with Bling and the gold chains around their necks sporting a dirty smelly VW ashtray, at least one thing is sure they would have increased status in the VW community as all the Bus owners would be going out of their way to get close to them, trying to run the buggers over.

I know what I would like to do, fill the carport floor with a little water and leave a live power cord in it, that’ll fix their wagons. “Charge to 300, Clear” Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzt “Sorry doctor McDreamy this one is fried like KFC”, “Thank you nurse, time of castration, 1645pm”. Ah nurse, would you like to get some coffee, or we can go to my place for a drink, I would like to get this bad taste out of my mouth. (Waffling again.)
