" TWO TERRIBLE STORIES"
My brickie relative was laying bricks for a new dwelling in Brown Street Karrinyup last Thursday 15th October, when his offside saw smoke then flames from the back of a Kombi down the road.
He grabbed a bucket of water and assisted.
No further report or facts, other than it was a long time owner.
I was talking to Jason at Auto Europe today, and saw a white foam stained motor.
Yes, the same story.
The fuel filter had been fitted by an un named service work shop three weeks before, above the manifold.
The consequences were disastrous.

Thats the reason why fuel filters were fitted underneath the bus. if fuel leaked out it only went onto the ground, no hot areas. I am guilty of putting an extra fuel filter in the engine bay, i did this when i had bessie, but it was only an addition to see if the first filter was doing its job. But i changed every fuel hose in the bus to make sure she was safe and we were safe whilst i drove her.

That's bad news, started mine up the other day, for the first time in ages, torrent of fuel coming out underneath.
Took it to John in Balcatta VW/Subi, returned an hour or so later, with most of the piping replaced.
Jobs a good'en, might even get out later, once the gardening, painting, tree loppnig etc is done

Thanks for the reminder... I really need to check Brigit's fuel lines and replace them if needed. Must get it done as soon as we settle into our new house (and garage), my baby is in the back there!!
