kombi badge. got me one but..browsing thru quokka today.. i see an advert for VW badge, front windscreen, and quart window.. all for $50.. ! i called up, and the badge was for a 71 kombi. i held my breath and asked if the price was right. he said yea and it includes all the other stuff listed.. i exhaled at that point and said what ever you do. dont sell it. consider it sold. at this point, i wore my 9 achre smile.
now, my Q- short of padlocking the thing to the front panel. whats the best way of securing an original VW badge. so chuffed i have one. i'm off to whitfords to buy a cake. i feel as flash as a rat with gold tooth.
ps- does anyone want a half a split screen window? not sure which side it fits. and a gear stick nob. missing the VW badge. and a quart window light.

We don't have a badge on the front of our kombi... but I would suggest using ample quantities of adhesive behind the badge and in the clips, and getting the badge as flush with the surface as possible (to deter fingernails).... but, in the end, there is probably no real way to stop a determined thief or vandal other than leaving the badge on your mantlepiece.

i have resolved my dilema. the rear view mirror pulls out just enough for the badge to slip past and hang on the mirror support. the support that stops the mirrow from moving towards the window screen.. its not in the right place. but freckles is complete.
