Insurance ComparisonsA company that compares the various car insurance policies available (Cannex) has published its latest report.
"NSW, Victoria and Queensland, in that order, have the most expensive premiums
Cannex awarded three companies - Budget Direct, Cashback and Allianz - five-star rankings for their products, which were found to offer superior value for money for most consumers in most states.
Ozicare, AAMI and NRMA Insurance, including RACV, SGIC and SGIO, were close behind on a four-star ranking for exceptional value products across most categories.
On a state-by-state basis, the survey found NRMA Insurance offered the best value for most drivers in NSW, while Cashback was the best choice in Queensland and Tasmania, Allianz was the best value in Victoria and Western Australia, and ING came out top in South Australia.
By age group, Just Car was the best value for most male and female drivers aged under 25, while Allianz and ING were the best for females aged between 25 and 29.
ING was the best choice for most males aged between 25 and 29, while Allianz came out on top for all drivers between 30 and 59.
A family with young drivers fared well with Budget Direct, while the best value policy for mature drivers was with Cashback."
Unfortunately, the report looks mostly at the drivers, and doesn't really take into account the age of the vehicle.
