Barry & Di

Hi from a couple of Syncro drivers.

Hi we are Barry and Di. We went to Muresk and met some of you and had a graet time looking at all the other Kombis.

We once had a 2lt Kombi camper, we had that for 10 years and loved camping in it. We sold it 10 years ago. We bouught a 4wd after that and enjoyed going off road also.

We really missed camping in the Kombi alot though. So when we saw a Syncro camper for sale we had to get it.

We've travelled around Australia in the Syncro and around WA too.

Here are some photos of our Syncros adventures.

We've also babysat a lot of beetles and kombis over the years for our sons.

We're currently babysitting our sons Tempo Matador. He is a member here also.

We pulled out it's engine today for a clean up and overhaul.

If anyone is heading down to Dwellingup send us a message and we'll have a cup of tea. Or we could show you where to stay around town.

Welcome Barry & Di!

I was just trying to research free bush campsites (in Vic), and as many of the best seem to be down long unsealed roads I find myself wishing I had a synchro... it would make getting away much easier, and would stop me worrying about getting stranded due to weather changes (although that could also be a good thing, in the right circumstances....)  I think a synchro is the best way to have a kombi and still head off sealed roads with confidence.

Well done, welcome back to the kombi world - and keep having fun! Smile

Welcome Barry and Di!

Your Syncro looks great! I think I saw it at the Northam gathering recently but I was not a member of the forum at that stage. I'm still trying to locate a nice T3 bus or camper - they are hard to locate in good condition at a reasonable price.

Hope you have lots of fun bush camping - it's a wonderful way to spend time.

Cheers!
Very Happy
Barry & Di

Thanks for the welcome

We've taken our van on a few good 4wd roads unfortunately never took any photos, but now will keep updating with 4WD photos for all to check out.  It is a good feeling to know we're not going to get bogged and can go to all the out of the way places.  Kombi handles pretty well on the dirt tracks & surprises many when they see when we arrive in a (4WD) area.

Our van is out of action at the moment, having the gears fixed.  Hope we are on the road soon
