Hi AllJust stumbled across this site. Thought I would add a few pics of my kombis to break the ice.
1957 Panel aka chickencoop
Welded twice in it's life as a terminix termite and pest control van, running 2180, kcw prostreet box, type 3 straight axle, Wolfgang Int, stainless safari's front and rear.
Next is a 64 Martin Walter dormobile, currently being stripped for new paint and welding. Has factory belly pans which is a bit unique for Dormies
Lastly my 70 deluxe, about to be lowered wolfburg west narrowed beam drop spindles and a 2110.
Sorry about the huge post.

Welcome to the Forum-don't be sorry about size of post- the more the better.
Great collection -2 splits and a lowlight.
We have a few members on the Sunshine Coast so they will be glad to see another from there.
Hope you enjoy the forum.

Hey Flipflop, welcome to the Kombi Konnection! I must say - you definitely have an interesting collection there! Most of us would be chuffed to have the lowlight alone (which is a particularly fine example!).... the dormie and panel splits just make us envious of your collection.... well done, and thanks for posting your pix up!

Cheers guys
luckily I have an understanding girlfriend, who lets me satisfy the obsession. Plus I'm using all my brownie points from buying her a ghia several years ago! I think I must have used them all though as it's getting harder to get things under the "must have" excuse.

none of them were mine. The bay is getting a suspension transplant when I get time to string a few hours together.

It will be a couple of weeks until the poo brown kombi is up and running, I'm replacing the front beam, spindles, brakes, bearings and window seals. When I get it back on the road I'll drive around until I see someone waving in a kombi.
You have to remember that when dealing with VW's it's not moronic, it's behaving in an eccentric manner.
