Hey EverybodyHey there, I'm new to Perth (and Oz for that matter) cos, like a lot of other members by all accounts, we've recently moved across form Scarborough in the UK to the Northern Suburbs. Had to sadly sell our '78 Westfalia Helsinki called Gloria before we came, but have replaced her already with a '74 1800 Kombi called Kanga.
One owner from new, has a few dents but next to no rust. Is an empty shell at present but I plan on kitting her out with a rock n roll bed (mainly for a seat for the kids) so that we can get out and about.
Have already relieved her of the riot van style screen guard. Anyway, was glad to find that there is an active bus scene in Perth, and hope to meet up with other enthusiasts??? soon.
Cheers Neil

Welcome Neil. If you've got nothing planned for Sunday why not come and meet a few of us at Fast Eddys at Carousel for breakfast. See coming events in the forum. Otherwise we'll see you on a run soon. Good luck with the fitout.

As the last post says - Get yourself out on run/meet to introduce yourselves, we would love to meet you.
PS I like the riot shield myself.......very unique

Welcome to the Forum and hope you get out to a run or meet soon.
Don't throw away the "riot shield" yet- you may find someone wants it.
When your Kombi was in it's younger days it was needed in the country to save windscreens. In one trip of 1300 miles over a week I had three windscreens broken.

Hey guys thanks for the warm welcome. Unfotunately got plans this Sunday, but I'll make sure we catch up soon.
As far as the riot shield goes, I prefer the cleaner look, and it's a bit distracting when driving into sun, but (and Claire, my wife will confirm this) I don't throw anything away. Now its off I'll try to straighten it up a bit and then store it somewhere safe.
Thanks again for the welcome. Neil
