Long story short i am getting married Feb 2010 and we are currently looking at wedding cars. The deal is i can choose the car there and my fiance can pick the car that takes us from the wedding.
Now my Fiance loves loves loves Combi's especially the combi split! and this is his dream wedding car, i've tried looking everywhere to hire one but nothing exists. Does anyone know where we could hire one or if people own them can we hire it off you !!
We are located in Femantle Perth, west australia

Hi Chele,
We have had at least one Kombi wedding in W.A.
I appreciate people may be hesitant due to legal issues, maybe someone knows someone who will drive for us that way you know your car is safe and make easy money ??

Hi Chele
I don't want to be a wet blanket, but the WA Govt, in the person of the Dept of Planning and Infrastructure, has sent out an edict to The Council of Motoring Clubs, that motoring clubs are not to get involved in that sort of vehicle hire.
The pressure for it came from the limousine hire industry which has invested huge amounts of money to establish their industry and they don't want amateurs or "blowins" to take business away from them.
If you "hired" a kombi from an amateur and something went wrong and someone sued and lawyers and the courts got involved, it could turn the happiest day of your life into a nightmare.
Even the WA VW Club will not get involved as it could void our public liability insurance if something went wrong. I'm on the club committee and this I know.
If you have a genuine friend or relative who has a Kombi and they are invited to the wedding and they attend the wedding functions, then you could be OK. Note the could.
It's a shame that no-one in the hire car industry has some Kombis for hire as they would get a lot of work, but that's just how it is.
I wish you well and I hope that you get the cars that you want, but go very carefully as you are about to enter a legal minefield, if it goes pear shaped.

Ok thanks for the advice, didnt realise everything had become so legal
Looks like we'll just have to find a car we like through a registered business and maybe one day i'll have to buy him that split
