HelloG'day mates. New to your site, but not to buses. I have had many VWs through the past 30 years. This is what I have now. 63 and 64 panels.
Neither one is runnig at this time, but someday they will roll again. Just wanted to say hello.

33 degrees... that would be winter in some places here! (but not in Melbourne!)
I love those double doors! Great score! BTW, what is with the starry wheels on the left kombi...? I kinda like them!
Have fun, and keep posting those pix!

Those are called "Jackman Stars".
Back in the late 70's and early 80's there was a local company (in El Cajon, CA) called Jackman Wheels. They made lots of the very popular heavy duty steel 8 spoke wheels for the off-road crowd.

They also made off-road lights, light bars, bumpers and other things for Baja Bugs, Jeeps and the bigger trucks. The "Jackman Star" was their signature product. Not as many of them made as the 8 spoke wheels. They made an all aluminum star for off-road racing.

They even made spindle mounts for Dune Buggies.
They have sense gone out of business and now there are many copies of the star on the market. Originals are easy to spot as they have a very distinctive "J" stamped on one of the star points. The J was their logo.
Those caps are hard to find. No one wanted them as you would have to take the wheel off to take the drum off.
I bought the four on the bus new (one owner, me) and the two on the trailer I got many years later and are some other manufacture.
