Hi Guys
How do I go about importing a Bus from England to Oz?
Shippers to use?
Price?
Taxes to pay?
All this kind of stuff, I may be coming out to the Perth area if I get the job I applied for.
This is my Bus

Welcome to KK and I hope I can say welcome to Perth one day I personally don't have much info about transprting but many on here do, so I am sure that you will get some help/answers.
Fill it with PG Tips (Pyramid) first though

Hey there John, welcome to the Kombi Konnection. I am sure you are already aware of it - but you have a great looking kombi!
I think I have to tell you - it will be a big mistake to take this kombi to Perth! Don't do it! They already have hundreds, so it won't be properly appreciated.... Take it to Melbourne! We would love to have it as part of our krew, there are very few splits on the road over here. Melbourne is a far better city anyway - as any Melbournian will proudly tell you!
Good luck with the shipping - I have not heard of many kombis being transported here (it usually occurs in reverse) but Maharg may have some info...

Welcome to the forum and you will definitely love Perth- that is why all the "othersiders" want to move here.
This guy who is in Perth will be able to give you some advice- A 40'container is only about 1/3 more expensive than a 20' and you can fill it up with your possessions or Kombi parts Tell him you were referred
Saw your bus on the samba and wanted it, if it's coming over here, all the better.
I imported mine, we used PSS shipping, and used a 20' container which had most of our worldly goods in as well, they packed inside and around the bus, the only damage, which we think was caused by the cleaning company this end was a broken cargo door handle (still looking for a replacement)
They will send you an import licence, you cant get it landed without one, then once here, however well you clean it, they will want it sending to an AQIS authorised depot for steam cleaning.
Keep a copy of your bill of sale with you as you will need to show that to the shipping company to get customs clearance and the valuation.
The bloke who did mine, valued the bus at $4000 aud, so only $400 import duty, no luxury car tax to pay.
After that its a trip to the pits and you get a nice new aussie number plate to put on it.
Take it down without your UK plate on it or they want to keep them.
If you need any more info, PM me and i'll see what I can do.
Cheers
