Dusty old car in back of shed turns out to be rare BugattiA RARE Bugatti supercar worth millions of dollars has been found in an English garage, where it was left untouched for half a century.
Experts believe the car — one of just a handful made — could fetch as much as £6 million ($A12.51 million) when it is auctioned at the Retromobile car show and sale being organised by Bonhams in Paris next month.
The owner, Dr Harold Carr, died in June 2007, aged 89, a childless bachelor. He left the garage in Newcastle upon Tyne, north England, to his nephews and nieces, without telling them of its contents. Alongside the Bugatti they found an E Type Jaguar and an Aston Martin.
When the reclusive surgeon died in 2007, his nephew found the Type 57S Atalante as he cleared out the garage and was amazed to learn that just 17 of the model were made.
