Dropped the 67 Pop TopThis is about 85% OG Paint Bus which I'm prpping to sell. I don't like lowered Buses but they seem to be the "in" thing and if it helps it sell OK. Here are some pictures of the Spindle install.

Work in between, Pretty straight forward about a 2 hour job with pressing/beating the link pin bushings out of the old spindles and installing/beating them into the new spindles.
It's stinking hot here 107 F and every tool gets very warm even in the shade.

Great shots Roadcow..... I remember my first summer here in Perth working on the bus - I grabbed a spanner that that had been sitting in the sun and quickly chucked it away again. I soon learned not to leave them in direct sunlight. But as you said even in the shade they get pertty warm.
The 67 bus looks better now too Hope you get a quick sale

Okay I know this is a bit of a nooB question - but why dropped spindles and not adjusters (or is that a bay thing)?
It looks great, and a handy guide, thanks for that!
(but personally I am not a fan of lowering - I like the natural height....)

Dropped spindles allow you to lower the bus 3 inches +, while keeping the same amount of suspension travel so you have a nice smooth ride with a lovely low bus.
Adjusters on a beam is good but it does stiffen the ride a little.

Sorry been swamped here. I'm with you piratekombe I like my Buses stock height. It took 1 day after I posted these pictures for a Lady in Ireland to contact me about the purchase of this Bus! I just don't know.

The dropped spindles, are just shorter arms then? and is that sole item in lowering the bus??
Seems a good and simple method for those that wanted to.
Does stiffening the suspension up a little not help with the ride and reduce a bit of the kombi waddle?

Dropped or flipped Spindles actually just move the center of the wheel "up" about 2.5 to 3.5 inches. That's the easiest way I know of how to describe it. You loose corresponding wheel travel at the top when you get close to the wheel tub.
