Door Help

Gd day everyone,
Just need some help/advise on how to fix the problem on my driver door. It seem that the driver door couldn't not be open from outside only from the inside and also for the passenger door, I can only open from outside but not inside can someone out there help me on this. Thanks Vince

I can't remember exactly but I have had this happen years ago, will try to describe.

If you take your door skin off, you will find that there are linkages between the various parts (inside handle, outside handle, knob and latch).

What has happened is that the linkage has come away from whatever part is not working.

This could be a few things;

Sometimes there is a spring clip thing that slides over the linkage rod on it falls off

or,

Sometimes the rod can fall out of the hole it goes in on the latch.

Basically, if you take off the door skin and have a look (or compare to the other door if its working) you should work it out pretty easily.

Quite often, if someone tries to use a coathanger etc. to get in without keys, they inadvertently knock one of the linkages off.

I usually find that if something isn't working, then pulling it apart, cleaning everything and then reassembling will usually fix the problem - or at least enable you to find the cause.  The handles are attached by a couple of allen screws behind the door trim.  Good luck! Smile

Just doing Gulliver- LH side works OK from inside but outer no way.
You need a long allen key preferably but can be done with short one.
5/32 or 4mm is size.
One handle is off you can push metal tab and see what is happening.
