I only collect dust Smile and single socks waiting for their partners to reappear!
Gabbo's Run

Our shelves are that full, there is no where for the dust to land.
Alice

Yeah...It's great but there is only so much you can display...I think we have too much stuff now...
Oh I forgot to mention 50's and 60's bathroom things...like old pink scales in stones.
Gabbo's Run

Gabbo's Run

Gabbo's Run

Couple more before she gets home.

that ones my little area.

Alice

I should get some pics too...

I can even recognise things that we have too...I love those old electric kettles  (we have a couple too)....I also have an almost matching Japanese silk teddy bear...I imagine you would find matching things in our clutter.

What is your very favourite collection or item?
Gabbo's Run

My favorite collection would be to sell it all on ebay. I have heaps of tobacco tins. cathy has the rest. She makes all her own witches and dolls and bears etc and spends anything up to 50 hours each making them at a cost of a couple hundred bucks each. She dont see what i put here as she aint into computers etc. But i would love to chuck it all on ebay. Her greatest collection is, that she has every card that was ever sent to us going back 37 years for kids being born etc. Every card i or the kids ever gave her ie xmas, easter, aniversary, birthday. you name it and she has every card. I just go along with the collection. Tea pots are her favorite i think, she has one worth 600 bucks, the others are also worth dollars. she normally pays about 200 each for the english ones. The kettles, thats a different story she loves them too and has about 18, the dearest one she paid 85 bucks for at a antique fair in warnambool. that was the specled bird shown some where.
Alice

So many things are my favourite...i love the book with wild notes on the pages by the original owner in fountain pen from 1895 (with name and address in the front) and the charity badge sold in 1945 in Maribyrnong (in Melbourne)...Woz has a newspaper from the day he was born....but here's a few pics (without having to go into cupboards).

These Berkley / Webb dolls were popular culture from the late '60's and early 70's...on the right is an old bottle with the original label (A gallon of laxitive!!!) a tabacco tin,  a canasta card set from the 50's

These dolls I've been collecting for a while...I now have 15.  I buy them from op shop...most of them for about $5...one I brought myself because of it's rarity for $30...they are worth $25-50 now..

Woz got this the other day...just one of those unusual pop. culture things...it is an alcohol decanter...when you lift out the decanter it plays a tune...very tacky and cool
Alice

I forgot to mention that Woz brought a lot of the Berkley dolls for me...he knew I liked them and brought me about 6 and that was the start of my collection.....

I then investigated them and now if I see them I buy them.....they are fragile and will only increase in value.
Gabbo's Run

Gabbo's Run

Alice

Whoops....sorry.....Maribyrnong!

I would love that which your wife does... Creativity in all forms I love...from music to making teddy bears....it poos all over people who become rich from shares!!
Gabbo's Run

will have some more goodies for your perusal in the next couple of days Alice.

Have been busy percuring some gear from the UK in the past weeks. Not kombi of coarse, just cottage pottery stuff. was cheaper to get it from the UK including postage than what it was to get in oz.
